PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of charging casting sand and an apparatus therefor capable of charging and supplying a small amount of facing sand into a mold molding frame and a prescribed amount of backing sand while ensuring a sand layer so as to be uniformly formed on the surface of a pattern plate. SOLUTION: In this method, the facing sand is projected and supplied with a high-speed rotating brush in a manner of centrifugal projection while moving the mold molding frame forward, and the prescribed amount of backing sand is supplied and charged while moving the frame backward.
