PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for efficiently making harmless (decomposing) carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: This device for decomposing carbon dioxide to take out carbon is provided with a hydrogen ion transmitting layer 1 for transmitting only hydrogen ion from one face side to the other face side facing each other, a first electrode 3 which is disposed at the other face side of the hydrogen ion transmitting layer 1 and has a function ionizing oxygen, a first support 4 which is disposed so as to form a void 4a for making carbon dioxide flow therein between the support 4 and the first electrode 3, a second electrode 6 which is installed at one face side of the layer 1 and has a function ionizing hydrogen, and a second support 7 installed so as to form a void 7a for making hydrogen flow therein between the support 7 and the second electrode 6. The first electrode 3 is composed of a porous material, on the surface of which an oxygen capturing layer 8 comprising an oxygen deficient magnetite is formed. |
