PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which printing can be performed without discarding print data upon occurrence of sheet jam due to designation of a different sheet feed tray and sheet jam can be prevented from occurring again. SOLUTION: The printer comprises an operating panel section where a message for notifying occurrence of sheet jam and urging removal thereof is displayed and a designation is inputted depending on the content of display, a sheet feed tray selecting section where a selection can be made whether the sheet feed tray is altered or not based on a user command from the operating panel section after sheet jam is released, a section for storing information being used for altering jam backup information into the information of a selected sheet feed tray, and a section performing jam backup processing based on the jam backup information corresponding to a sheet feed tray selected upon occurrence of sheet jam or other sheet feed tray. |
