PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which permits the operation of remote control signal reception and ranging liable to be affected by noise even in EL light emission. SOLUTION: This camera 11 has a first secondary battery 12, a second secondary battery 14 having the charging voltage higher than that of the first secondary battery 12, a charging section 13 having a boosting function, an EL element 19, and an EL light emission control section 18 for controlling the EL element 19. The voltage of the first secondary battery 12 is boosted by the charging section 13, by which the second secondary battery 14 is charged. The EL element 19 is made to emit light on the output of the second secondary battery 14 by control of the EL light emission control section 18.
