PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based color clear paint, which can form a coating film having weathering resistance and sharpness and is excellent in dispersion stability. SOLUTION: The water-based color clear paint comprises a colorant, cyclodexistrin or a derivative thereof, a resin, and a water-based solvent. The resin used therein includes a water-based synthetic resin such as an alkyd resin, a phenolic resin, an acrylic resin, an epoxy resin and a urethane resin. The water-based color clear paint preferably further comprises additives such as a leveling agent, a dispersant and a thickening/sag inhibitor.
