PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for molding a glass element able to prevent mold oxidation, to shorten cycle time and to perform a subminiature, minute shape or highly precise molding. SOLUTION: The apparatus for molding the glass element is equipped with a pair of molds 6, 13 at which a glass material 34 is placed, an infrared lamp 20 to heat the molds and the glass material, a fixed shaft 2 to mold the glass element by pressing the heated glass material, a driving device 8, a moving shaft 9 and the like, a molding chamber 17 which surrounds airtightly the pair of molds and a high vacuum exhauster 32 to keep the molding chamber airtight.
