PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failure of a staple process. SOLUTION: This device includes a post-processing means 20 for performing the staple process by using a stapler unit an input means 30 for selecting a post-process mode, a post-process control means 22 for operating the post- processing means 20 in response to the post-process mode selected by the input means 30, and a display means 35. When the post-process mode for performing the staple process by using the stapler unit provided on the post-processing means 20 is selected by the input means 30, a king of a staple cartridge used for the staple process is displayed on the display means 35 by the post-process control means 22. When the number of documents fed by a automatic document feeding means 14 is not within a range of the number corresponding to the kind of the staple cartridge used in the staple process, the staple process is inhibited and an alarm display is displayed on the display means 35.
