PURPOSE: A device of transmitting/receiving an HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) indicator of a CDMA mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to select one bit combination by corresponding to a TPC command and the HSDPA indicator, and to transmit bits in accordance with the selected bit combination as TPC bits, thereby efficiently supplying a high speed data service in mobile terminals. CONSTITUTION: A terminal interprets a TPCamp;HI(HSDPA Indicator) field(601). The terminal decides whether information on the HI is true or false(602). If the information is false, the terminal decides whether TPC information of the received information is '0' or '1'(603). If the information is true, the terminal decides whether a TPC value is '0' or '1'(604). If the TPC information is '0', the terminal confirms that HS-DSCH data do not exist, and waits the next TTI. The terminal reduces power of an uplink dedicated channel(606). The terminal confirms that the HS-DSCH data is transmitted, interprets a shared control channel, and receives an HS-DSCH(607). The terminal increases the power of the uplink dedicated channel(608).
