<p>The present invention relates to an opener (5) being used for the horizontally rotating shuttle having a rotating hook (1) rotating in synchronization with the vertical movement of a sewing machine needle, and a shuttle body (2), which is rotatably supported by the rotating hook and having an engaging projection (2a) and a contact portion (2b) on the outer periphery of the shuttle body (2). The engaging projection (2a) is freely supported between two position-immovable fixed retaining members (3, 4). The opener (5) is made movable by driving means between a position where the front end portion of the opener (5) pushes the contact portion (2b) pf the shuttle body (2) in a direction opposite to the direction in which the rotating hook (1) rotates and a position where the front end portion thereof is separated from the shuttle body (2) contact portion (2b). When the opener (5) pushes the contact portion (2b) in the direction opposite to the direction in which the rotating hook (1) rotates, the one opposite plane (2b?) of the shuttle body (2) contact portion (2b) and another opposite plane (5?) of the opener (5) are performed in such a shape that a vertical component (Fb) of a force applied by the opener (5) acts on the contact portion (2b).</p> |
