PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge for very efficiently recovering toner particles to a developing device by accurately controlling the charging of the toner particles. SOLUTION: A charging roller 2 is brought into contact with a photoreceptor 1 by a predetermined pressing force against elasticity, and an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is developed as a toner image by the developing device 3. A magnetic field generating member 6 has an abutting member 6a, and has the characteristic of triboelectrification having positive charging property. Four processing units, namely the photoreceptor 1, the charging roller 2 functioning as a contact charging member, the magnetic field generating member 6 including the abutting member 6a and the developing device 3, are included in a cartridge 20 and set as a cartridge type device freely attached to/detached from a printer body collectively. Attachment/detachment guiding and holding members 21 and 22 are provided to the process cartridge 20. |
