PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for ink realizing excellent recording perfor mance, high water resistance, low dependence of color tone on paper and to provide an ink jet recording method. SOLUTION: This composition for ink comprises a disazo pigment represented by general formula (I) [wherein A1 and B1 are each independently an optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl group, with the proviso that when the either one of A1 and B1 is substituted with SO3 M, the other is not substituted with SO3 M, an alkoxy group or an acylamino group; M is hydrogen atom or a monovalent cation]. This ink jet recording method comprises using the composition for ink. |
