PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base plate for high-density optical disks that has high precision and high transfer properties and to provide a polycarbonate resin therefor. SOLUTION: The aromatic polycarbonate resin is constituted with a polycarbonate recurring units derived from 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-methyl-propane (unit a) and another polycarbonate recurring units derived from 1,1-bis(4- hydroxyphenyl)-2-ethylhexane (unit b). In the polycarbonate, the molar ratio of the unit (a) to the unit (b) is 99/1-1/99 in the whole carbonate recurring units. |
