PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate control method which can save time and labor required for unlocking of a gate, and to provide a gate control system, a gate control device, a server, a portable communication terminal, a program, and a recording medium. SOLUTION: An authentication server 70A receives a telephone number of a portable telephone set 40A and a gate control device number of the gate control device 21A. If a combination between a telephone number and a gate control device number registered in an authenticating data storage database 72A coincides with a combination between the received telephone number of the portable telephone set 40A and the received gate control device number of the gate control device 21A, and a gate unlocking schedule time zone associated with the combination includes a current time, it is determined that the authentication server 70A is qualified to enter facilities, and therefore a positive authentication result is transmitted to the gate control device 21A. The gate control device 21A unlocks the gate 10A upon reception of the positive authentication result.
