PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of securing the proper start performance with the fuel quantity of the lean air/fuel ratio and securely reducing the HC emission quantity at start. SOLUTION: The fuel quantity fed to each cylinder during the period from the start of cranking at start through the complete explosion and the ignition timing for burning the fed fuel are arbitrarily set for each combustion process started in order over a plurality of cylinders, and the combination of the fuel injection quantity and the ignition timing is optimized for outputting the necessary torque in each combustion process.
