PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sealing adhesive which, when used for heat sealing a molded polypropylene sheet of a polypropylene-made PTP package container with a metal foil substrate, has good heat sealing properties, does not generate a harmful gas, and exhibits a good applicability; and a heat sealing cover material prepared by applying the adhesive to a metal foil substrate. SOLUTION: The main component of this heat sealing adhesive for sealing a polypropylene resin-made container with a metal foil substrate is a modified block copolymer obtained by adding an unsaturated carboxylic acid to a partially hydrogenated, vinylaromatic compound-conjugated diene compound block copolymer. The heat sealing cover material is prepared by applying the adhesive to a metal foil substrate.
