PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent for glass fiber with which the reduction in viscosity occurring when thermoplastic resin and glass fiber are kneaded can be suppressed. SOLUTION: The sizing agent for glass fiber containing at least one metal acetate selected from the group consisting of sodium acetate, potassium acetate and tin acetate, polyurethane resin, a lubricant, a silane coupling agent and water is characterized in that the metal acetate, the polyurethane resin, the lubricant and the silane coupling agent are dissolved and/or dispersed in the water.
