<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high dielectric constant rubber composition which can suppress the deterioration of the electrical properties such as dielectric loss tangent (tanδ), dielectric breakdown voltage (BDV), and insulation resistance (ρ) in spite of having a high dielectric constant. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by incorporating 300-500 pts.wt. barium titanate-based powder having a specific dielectric constant at room temperature to 90 deg.C of >=2,000 into 100 pts.wt. rubber such as an ethylene propylene rubber crosslinked with a peroxide to render the specific dielectric constant >=10 or preferably >=20. It is preferred that the removal of the peroxide-decomposed residue in the resulting rubber composition by heating and, simultaneously, the use of the barium titanate powder rendered free of ionic impurities by washing with a deionized water further inhibit the deterioration of the electrical properties such as dielectric loss tangent, dielectric breakdown voltage, and insulation resistance.</p> |
