CARBONIZATION APPARATUS AND CARBONIZATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization apparatus and method whereby a carbonization product is produced at a high recovery ratio; high heat efficiency is achieved by effectively utilizing the combustion energy of a volatile gas; generation of harmful substances such as dioxins can be prevented; and even when the water content of an object to be treated is high, the object is carbonized with a one-stage carbonization apparatus without the necessity for a pretreatment such as dehydration or drying, thus reducing the equipment cost and running cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a carbonization oven 10 for carbonizing an object 2 to be treated to give a carbonization product 4; gas circulation routes 24 and 25 for leading a volatile gas generated in the carbonization oven 10 from the object inlet side 14 of the carbonization oven through the outside of the carbonization oven to a carbonization product outlet side 15 of the carbonization oven; temperature adjustment means 22 and 23 set in the gas circulation routes 24 and 25 for adjusting the temperature of the volatile gas; and a burning means 21 set in the gas circulation routes 24 and 25 for burning the volatile gas.
