<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cement admixture which has the reducing capacity of hexavalent chromium and the maintaining capacity of the fluidity of cement, and to provide a method of treating yellow water as industrial waste in the steel industry. SOLUTION: The facts that the yellow water by-produced on aging of sulfur- containing slag has the maintaining capacity of the fluidity of concrete, and that a sulfur component contained in the yellow water, especially sulfur not in the form of sulfuric acid has the reducing capacity of hexavalent chromium, are found. Since anything can be used only if the yellow water contains sulfur not in the form of sulfuric acid, there is a merit also in the point of the effective utilization of industrial waste.</p> |
