PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink composition for ball-point pens without causing an interrupted flow or an unsmooth flow of ink, without lowering writing quality after the passage of time and without producing bubbles when sued in writing utensils. SOLUTION: This water-based ink composition for the ball-point pens comprises at least 0.1-50 wt.% of a dye such as an acid dye, a direct dye or a basic dye or a colorant such as an inorganic pigment or an organic pigment, 30-95 wt.% of water and 0.05-3 wt.% of phytic acid, as necessary, a shear thinning agent such as xanthan gum or guar gum. |
