PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide concrete and effective means for practical use of a high efficiency stirling engine. SOLUTION: This stirling engine includes a piston that makes a reciprocating linear motion while it rotates within a cylinder. Valves to get gas through or to block the gas are provided on the piston and the cylinder respectively at the position relative to the rotating piston, according to the position of the rotation angle of the piston, by using the rotation of the rotating piston of the stirling engine. Internal gas is split at the position of the rotating angle of the piston and mutual phases of a plurality of pistons are adjusted, and the starling cycle such as heating expansion, cooling compression, and the like is effectively used.
