PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular display device capable of suppressing electric power consumption or component damage. SOLUTION: This display device has a display part comprising indicator type display parts D1, D2 and an indicator D3; light sources 3, 4, 6 illuminating the display parts D1-D3; and a control part 10 turning on the light sources 3, 4, 6 interlockingly with operation of a vehicle key switch SW. After turning on the light source 6 by the key switch SW (step 102), the control part 10 decides whether a vehicle engine is in an operation state or not (step 104). When the control part 10 determines that the engine is in the operation state, the control part 10 turns off the light source 6 (step 105). When the control part 10 determines that the engine is not in the operation state, the control part 10 turns off the light source 6, after a prescribed time lapses (step 107).
