PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on a worker by making an assembly line suitable especially for the assembly of a vehicle body of the low quantity production. SOLUTION: A plurality of subassembly lines S are disposed parallel to each other on a side of a main line M for carrying a vehicle body W. As the subassembly line S, a multi-functional truck 1 travels in two rows of component areas (b) disposed in the direction orthogonally crossing the main line M so that a subassembly can be assembled. The region between the two rows of the component areas (b) is a subassembly area (r). A physical distribution area (y) orthogonally crossing the main line M is disposed adjacent to each component area (b).
