The present invention relates to a leg (1) and a process of its manufacture, intended for example for a table or a furniture or for interior equipment wherein the leg is made of metal or plastic preferably of tubular shape and in this case of circular cross section. A flat veneer strip (3), imitating various kinds of wood species such as beech, oak, ash, maple and the like is adhesive bonded by a polymer adhesive on the whole periphery of the product blank (10) outer surface (2). Joint (4), extending in longitudinal direction of the product and making a beginning (5) and end (6) of the adhesive bonded veneer is imperceptible. Process for producing such leg (1) is characterized in that a diluted polymer adhesive based on rubber is uniformly applied to the blank (10) outer surface (2) and the veneer flat strip (3), whereupon after the adhesive drying said uniform application of the diluted polymer adhesive based on rubber is repeated. After the second adhesive layer flash off, the beginning (5) of the veneer flat strip (3) is put and pressed onto the blank (10) outer surface (2) and the flat veneer strip (3) is then gradually put on the whole circumference of the blank (10) with simultaneous pressing the flat veneer strip (3) past the whole periphery onto the blank (10) outer surface (2). Due to pressure exerted onto the veneer at the joint (4) of the beginning (5) and end (6) of the veneer strip (3), said joint (4) is roughly closed, the excessive portion of the veneer overlapping the blank (10) periphery is removed and the joint (4) is finished by grinding particularly in the direction of the veneer year rings. In the final phase of the manufacturing process, the surface of the adhesive bonded veneer is fine ground and optionally clear lacquer is applied thereto.
