PURPOSE: A TRP1 gene of the yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica, and its use as a selection marker gene are provided to widen the range of selection genes available in the yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica, and to manufacture a multiple gene disruption system using 5-Fluoroanthranilic acid (5-FAA). CONSTITUTION: A TRP1 gene of the yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica, having a base sequence shown in Fig. 1 is deposited in the Korean Collection for Type Cultures with the accession number KCTC 0998BP, and a vector system is constructed by using the TRP1 gene as a selection marker gene. A multiple gene disruption system is manufactured by using the fact that Yarrowia lipolytica with the TRP1 gene has no viability in a medium containing 5-FAA, however, Yarrowia lipolytica with a disrupted TRP1 gene is viable therein.
