PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize display on a rear display window and a front display window with one liquid crystal device and to display contents displayed on the rear display window at the time of closing a liquid crystal display device also on the front display window when opening the device. SOLUTION: A single LCD 1 is provided between a rear display face 11 and a front display face 12. A display area of the LCD 1 is divided into a small display area 41 to be used for display on the display window 13 and the display window 14 and a small display area 42 to be used for display on the display window 14. A reflection plate 3 supplies reflected light as a light source required for display operation to the small display area 42. A half-mirror reflection plate 2 reflects a half of incident light from the display window 13 to supply it as a light source for display on the display window 13 to the small display area 41 and outputs a half of incident light, which is made incident from the display window 13 and is transmitted through the small display area 41, to the display window 14 as transmission light. The small display area 41 is operated as an external light reflection area for the display window 13 and is operated as an external light transmission area for the display window 14. |
