ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER, DEVELOPER AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophotographic toners by which a stable quantity of an electrostatic charge and amount of conveyance can be obtained and high- quality images can be obtained without impairing the advances of the electrophotographic toners even in long tern use when polyester or polyol is used as a binder resin of the above toners. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic toners contain the binder resin, coloring agents and negative charge control agent, in which the binder resin is the polyester or polyol and the negative charge control agent is the resin negative charge control agent composed of (1) a sulfonic acid-containing monomer, (2) an aromatic monomer having an electron-attractive group and (3) an acrylate monomer and/or methacrylate monomer as a structural unit. A substituted phenyl maleimide and substituted phenylitacon imide are more particularly preferable as (2) and n-butyl (metha)acrylate and 2-ethyl hexyl (metha)acrylate is preferable as (3).
