PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide angle lens having a two-group two-lens constitution with improved brightness and lens function. SOLUTION: As for the wide angle lens, a meniscus lens at a 1st lens 10 and a biconvex lens as a 2nd lens 20 are successively arranged from an object side toward an image side, and also, at least one or more surfaces of the lenses 10 and 20 are formed to aspherical surfaces, and also, provided that a face-to- face distance between the image side surface of the 1st lens 10 and the object side surface of the 2nd lens 20 is expressed by D, the focal distance of the whole lens system is expressed by (f) and the focal distance of the 2nd lens 20 is expressed by f2 , the following conditional expressions are satisfied; D/f>5.4 and f2 /f>2.
