PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument having innovative and interesting display. SOLUTION: A light guide plate 40 provided with auxiliary scales 41a is disposed on the top of the front side of dials 70 and 70A provided with main scales 71a and 75a, respectively. The main scales 71a and 75a are transmissibly illuminated by light transmitted from the back side of the dials 70 and 70A. The auxiliary scales 41a are illuminated by light guided by the light guide plate 40 in a light guiding way. Accordingly, the main scales 71a and 75a transmissibly illuminated and the auxiliary scales 41a illuminated by the guided light are combined and viewed on a nearly arc-like scale part 71 out of a viewing part 70b of the dial 70. Thereby, the display of this measuring instrument can be formed into an innovative and interesting style.
