PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, simply structured and inexpensive inclinometer favorable in temperature characteristic and linearity, high in resolution and reproducibility. SOLUTION: A detector of the inclinometer is composed by providing a pendulum 19 rotatably suspended from a stand 16 and having a sensor rod (a magnetic body) 21 in a free end side, and a coil 20 arranged so that a distance with the sensor rod (the magnetic body) 21 changes in response to rotation of the pendulum 19 and outputting a detection signal responding to a change of the distance. An output from the detector is sent to an inclination angle detecting part by a signal cable 23, and an inclination angle is detected at the inclination angle detecting part.
