PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container having an improved compression strength. SOLUTION: There is provided a packaging container including a shock- absorbing material A having a notch space for use in storing a commodity and also including a box body B for use in storing the shock-absorbing material A. Heights of supporting pieces 120, 130, 140 and 150 for the shock-absorbing material A when the shock-absorbing material A is stored in the box body B are to be substantially the same as an inner height of the box body B, so that a load applied to the box body B during transportation or storage of the commodity can be accepted by the shock-absorbing material A. As a result, the compression strength when the shock-absorbing material A is stored in the box body B can be improved more than that of a single box body (under a state in which the shock-absorbing material is not put in the box body).
