PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably detect that a part properly enters into a receiving hole in an electrode having the receiving hole, and moreover, to normally secure electric conductivity in the electrode by preventing the invasion of black smoke, etc., and cooling water in welding. SOLUTION: This electrode for projection welding is constituted in such a manner that a magnet 15 is disposed in a through-hole 12A and, when the part 2 is brought into contact with the magnet 15, the electric conductivity is brought about in the electrode. Further, a seal ring 32 is disposed between the through-hole 12A and the magnet 15 and a water-proof seal member 34 is disposed between an electric wire 23 extended from an electric conductive part in the electrode and a body 6.
