PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mainly provide an optical waveguide which is free of the possibility of deterioration since the need for postprocessing after exposure when a lyophilic pattern is formed on a wettability changing layer is eliminated, the pattern is precisely formed, and the optical waveguide itself contains no light catalyst. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide has the wettability changing layer which varies in wettability through the operation of a light catalyst accompanying energy irradiation so that the angle of contact with liquid decreases and contains no light catalyst, a core layer which is patterned on the wettability changing layer, and an upper clad layer which is so formed on the wettability changing layer as to cover the core layer. |
