PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump gate securing a large opening area with a suction port fully opened, smoothly leading water to a drain pump without forming an eddy flow in driving the drain pump with the suction port fully opened, and suppressing the lowering of the pump performance, vibration, and noise. SOLUTION: The base end 8A of an eddy prevention plate 8 is rotationally attached to the suction port 4A of the gate 4. In fully opening the tap 4A, the eddy prevention plate 8 is made to float by a buoyancy of a float 83 so as to secure the large opening area of the port 4A. With the port 4A fully closed, the eddy prevention plate 8 is lowered by a cutoff gate door body 3, its tip part is made to abut on one of a channel side end face 3A of the cutoff gate door body 3 adjacent to the upper side of the top P1 in a suction port 5A of the drain pump 5 by the buoyancy of a float 83 and water W1 in and around the water surface WL1 near the cutoff gate door body 3 is locked in the upper side of the eddy prevention plate 8 to cut off the direct connection between the drain pump 5 and the suction port 5A.
