PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of defects due to dust, etc., caused in sticking. SOLUTION: In a method for sticking substrates together in which an upper glass substrate 3 and a lower glass substrate 4 disposed opposite to each other are stuck together via an adhesive, both the substrates are aligned by moving the lower glass substrate 4 relatively to the upper glass substrate 3 in a horizontal direction and then both the substrates are stuck together via the adhesive.
