PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for detecting image quality abnormality which can be incorporated readily even in an existing high speed printer and can detect an image quality abnormality in real time by on-line in units of page. SOLUTION: An image printed on a sheet at the printing section 12 of a printer 10 is read out photoelectrically by means of an image reader 34 to obtain an image which is then developed into an image memory 40. Based on a form frame image at a part common to respective pages included in the image PI developed into the image memory 40, and a reference form frame image FI held previously in a storage device 38, an image quality abnormality detecting section 42 detects the image quality abnormality of the image printed on the sheet. |
