PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably prevent the jacket of an optical fiber from being damaged even if reflected laser light, incident laser light resulting from misalignment, etc., is made incident on the clad of the optical fiber. SOLUTION: A quartz pipe 22 made of cylindrical quartz as a light removal member for clad propagated light is fitted to the surface of the clad 1b of an exposed part of the optical fiber 1 run through a sleeve 7 of an optical connector C1 or C2 at an input/output end by being bonded and fixed with an inorganic adhesive 23 such as a glass-based adhesive or ceramic-based adhesive.
