PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly put the inside of a suction pump and the inside of a pump body in a vacuum state, and to eliminate the remainder of air in the pump body. SOLUTION: In this fire pump, a vacuum pump is connected via a suction side suction pipe to a base end part of the suction pipe connected to a suction port of the pump body, air in the suction pipe is sucked via the suction side suction pipe by the vacuum pump, and water is pumped in the pump body via the suction pipe. The vacuum pump is connected via a delivery side suction pipe to a just upstream side part of a backflow preventive valve connected to a water discharge port of the pump body, and the air in the pump body is sucked via the delivery side suction pipe by the vacuum pump.
