PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary equipment drive device for automobile to drive a compressor for operating a cooling machine forming an air conditioner and a refrigerating device even when an engine is stopped in a vehicle equipped with an idling stop. SOLUTION: A planetary gear speed reducing mechanism is installed in a first pulley 7 interlocked to the crank pulley 3 of an engine 1 through endless belts 4 and 8 and arranged continuously with an electric rotating machine 5 and a second pulley 11 arranged continuously with a compressor 9. The carrier shaft 7d of the first pulley is connected to the sun gear shaft 11d of the second pulley through a mechanical link mechanism 18 having a worm gear 19 and a worm wheel 20. The device comprises an inverter device 13 and a battery 15 electrically connected to the electric rotating machine 5 and a controller 17 for controlling the inverter device 13. While the engine 1 is rotating, the electric rotating machine 5 is operated as a generator to charge the battery 15. When the engine 1 is stopped, the electric rotating machine 5 is operated as an electric motor to drive the compressor 9.
