<p>A chlorosilane pref. methyldichlorosilane, or dimethylchlorosilane is reacted with dextropimaric or isodextropimaric acid in the presence of chloroplatinic acid in soln. is isopropyl alcohol. The reaction mixture is distilled under vacuum to remove excess silane. Alkaline hydrolysis opt. preceeded by alcoholysis of the product gives silicone resins which are esp. useful as emulsifiers in the polymerisation of butadiene-styrene systems.</p> |
