PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize thermal energy generated in an apparatus for generating hydrogen. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for generating hydrogen is provided with a fuel tank 3 to store fine particles of a hydride 2, a liquid storing tank 4, a mixing vessel 5 to mix water with the hydride 2, a reaction vessel 6, an energy recovery means 7 and a recovery tank 8. The mixing vessel 5 is interconnected with the reaction vessel 6 through a pipe line 16, and a mixed liquid mixed in the mixing vessel 5 is fed in through the lower part of the reaction vessel 6 with a pump 17 installed to the pipe line 16. The energy recovery means 7 is provided with a steam turbine 18 and a power generator 19 connected to the steam turbine 18. The steam turbine 18 is connected to the upper part of the reaction vessel 6 through a pipe line 20 in such a way that a reaction product in the reaction vessel 6, in an atomized state, is transferred to the steam turbine 18 with the steam. The exhaust opening of the steam turbine 18 is connected to the recovery tank 8 through a pipe line 21, and in the midstream of which a cooling means 22 is installed. |
