PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly slide a slide shaft by guiding the slide shaft by previously pressing it with a linear guide or the like. SOLUTION: Four guide grooves 6 are formed on the slide shaft 4 and magnetic pitch marks 8 are so formed at a predetermined interval as to exclude the parts of the guide grooves 6. Primary coils and secondary coils are alternately arranged and the slide position of the slide shaft 4 is detected by using the variation of magnetic coupling between the primary coils and the secondary coils depending on the positions of the magnetic marks 8.
