PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a compressor 21 and an expander 22 of an air conditioner 10 in a place unsupplied with electricity, and meet the social demand under energy diversification that the air conditioner 10 be operated on natural gas, LNG, kerosene, heavy oil and the like as a direct energy source. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 10 comprises an air cycle part 11 having the centrifugal compressor 21 for compressing air and the centrifugal expander 22 for expanding air, and a humidifying/dehumidifying mechanism 60 for humidifying and dehumidifying air. A centrifugal compression impeller of the centrifugal compressor 21 and a centrifugal expansion impeller of the centrifugal expander 22 are interconnected by the same rotary shaft 36. The rotary shaft 36 is rotatively driven by a gas turbine 37.
