PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for desulfurizing molten iron using plastics with which the desulfurization of the molten iron is promoted and the consumption of flux such as lime is reduced and the lowering of temperature in the molten iron can be restrained and the consumptions of electric power and steam, etc., can be saved by injecting the plastics into the molten iron produced in a blast furnace. SOLUTION: The molten iron 12 produced in iron-making process is charged into a vessel 13, and the ground plastics 15 are injected in the molten iron 12 by using an injection lance 14. Also, it is desirable that the grain diameter of the plastics 15 is 0.001-10.0 mm.
