<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high locating accuracy in the location of a thunder- discharging position. SOLUTION: The thunder-locating apparatus comprises a reception station at M points (M: an integer of 2 or more) having a GPS receiver for obtaining a time signal from an antenna for GPS, a VHF-UHF band receiver for obtaining electromagnetic waves due to thunder discharge from a VHF-UHF band interferometer antenna, a MUSIC processing section for calculating the azimuth where electromagnetic waves arrive based on the phase signal of electromagnetic waves from the VHF-UHF band receiver, and a data-processing/transmitting section for obtaining a thunder information signal where time information by the GPS receiver is added to the azimuth information of the arrival of electromagnetic waves in thunder discharge from the MUSIC processing section, the intersection point of arrival azimuth based on each thunder information signal of the data processing/transmitting section of a reception station at the M points, and an analysis apparatus for locating the thunder discharge position according to the arrival time difference from the thunder discharge to the reception station.</p> |
