PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal optical device which removes the flare light of a confocal optical system. SOLUTION: The confocal optical system which has a confocal disk (3) provided with a confocal pattern and obtains a confocal image by scanning the confocal pattern of the confocal disk (3) on a direction nearly orthogonal with the optical axis (L) is furnished with a diaphragm (6) disposed on the confocal disk (3) or in proximity to the confocal disk (3).
