摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for visual inspection, capable of automatically inspecting the curved part of a body to be inspected on which a spherical projecting curved part is formed. SOLUTION: This device is composed of an aligning device 1 to take out a body to be inspected S one by one, a directly advancing feeder 2 to linearly move the body to be inspected S, a belt conveyer 3 to receive the body to be inspected S from the directly advancing feeder 2 and to transfer it to an image pickup position and to a selectively collecting position through it, a cylindrical transparent body 4 installed in the upper part of the image pickup position while having a light emitting surface 4a formed by uniformly expanding the projecting curved surface of the body to be inspected S and forming a light guiding surface 4b at its other end, an image pickup device 6, and an image processing device 7. The curved surface of the body to be inspected S which stops at the image pickup position is irradiated by an emitter 5, and the image of the projecting curved surface projected on the light guiding surface 4b is picked up by the image pick-up device 6 by entering its reflected light from the light emitting surface 4a to carry out a defect determining process by the image processing device 7.
