PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly provide desired behavior in behavior of a vehicle to operation of a steering wheel 1 of a driver in regard to an electric power steering device of an automobile assisting steering of the steering wheel 1 by control of an electric motor 11. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device for the automobile is provided with an assist control part 21 providing a controlled variable by multiplying a detected valueξof a torque sensor 12 by a gain Ka, a lateral acceleration feedback control part 22 calculating a target lateral acceleration from a steering wheel steering torque u and determining a controlled variable on the basis of a deviation between the target lateral acceleration and an actual lateral acceleration G, and a motor control part 23 controlling the electric motor 11 by a controlled variable provided by adding each controlled variable.
