PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a galvannealed steel sheet by which the occurrence of projecting coating defect can be suppressed when electrodeposition coating is applied to the galvannealed steel sheet. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the galvannealed steel sheet in which a steel sheet is subjected to hot-dip galvanizing and alloying treatment to form a Zn-Fe alloy plating film, the steel sheet is temper-rolled after the alloying treatment and then brought into contact with an acid solution of pH 0.6 to 5.8. The contact with the acid solution is carried out in a nonelectrified state.
