PURPOSE: A system and a method for dualizing a physical link by using a SONET frame header are provided to prevent the inconsistency between state information and data by deciding directly a work link from the received data. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second physical link boards(100,200) are used for bypassing cells according to an active/standby state and transmitting the cell generating a frame header error in a data transmission process. In addition, the first and the second physical link boards(100,200) are used for detecting a frame header error and an abnormal state of a cable to receive data in a data reception process. A plurality of links are used for forming one path to transmit an active board(110) and a standby board(120) of the first physical link board(100) to an active board(210) and a standby board(220) of the first physical link board(200).
